1970's - TV

Unlike the '60s, TV in this decade was more animated and was better entertainment wise. This decade sort of capitalized on the current events and wasnt afraid to offend people as much as it did in the 1960's. TV shows such as happy days, allin the family, and Mash. TV changed in the '70s for the good. The quality was better and the shows were better entertainment wise than in previous decades. TV was at a turning point and it began its move towards a different genre of entertainment.

1970's - Movies

In the 1970's, movies made advancements that were much needed to improve movie quality. Technology was better, scripts were better, storylines improved, and the overall business was becoming better. Technological masterpieces like Star Wars epitomized movies of the future and how these movies should be made. Film companies and actors were welcoming the future and all it had to offer. The '70s also gave us gems such as Jaws, The Godfather, Grease, Saturday Night Fever, and Rocky. The '70s had its good and its bad. More good than bad, but it was a time of improvement and advancements.

1970's - Music

In the 1970's, Vietnam was over, the drugs were still flowing but didnt hold as much an influence, and new genres were born. As the Beatles had broken up, people were looking for something new. Outcasts tuned into Punk Rock like the Ramones, and the up an coming underground success of disco took America's dance scene by storm. John Lennon was stealing the show with his solo work, the Eagles were on top, and the music business was changing but thriving for the most part. African Americans were hitting the main scene with disco and jazz, and the age of new genres was built. Music was changing, and no one expected what the next decade would bring.

1960's - TV

In the 1960's, TV was just not that great in my mind. Although sitcoms and game shows brought many great moments, good shows, and great memories, the priduct was nothing that people would enjoy now. Shows never offended anyone or discuss  something that angered people like a current event. TV was bland, offending no one and living off of one liners. Comedy wasnt comedy, action was more like a comedy, and sci-fi was jokeworthy. It was a rough time for TV, but it helped advance the business for the future.

1960's - Movies

In the 1960's, themovie busineess was prospering. People used movies as a platform to go out, paying just $.50 for a ticket. Movies were much different then, putting credits at the beginning rather than the end due to restrictions. Movies then also differed technologically, having shoddy special effects and lackluster picture quality. I mean, it was the '60s of course... Movies also stayed away from offending anyone, offering a very conservative script and storyline for the most part. Although the movie business was making developments, it was still lacking the shock factor, or what people would view as shocking and outrageous.

1960's - Music

In the 1960's, music as we knew it would chnage forever. Rock & Roll, the British Invasion, Woodstock, and the advancements of the business made on of musics best decades. Groups such as the Beatles and Rolling Stones took the American music world by storm, dominating the charts and pumping out albums like it aint no thing. Woodstock shocked everyone, giving America its greatest music festival of all time. Rock legends were born, such as Jim Morrisson, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix. All of whom died at 27, but changed the business forever. The '60s also shows one of the biggest transitions of music ever. From beginning to end, music went from an upbeat lovey dovey genre to a very depressing, drug influenced wartime music. Prime example, the Beatles from '63-'69. Music was at its finest in the '60s, setting the tone for the future.
