1980's TV - Reflective of Decade?

TV in the '80s was an everchanging conglomerate. The TV scene became heavily dependent on the success of sitcoms, comedies, action comedies, and Spin-Offs. Sitcoms were the most popular, with the Cosby Show, Different Strokes, and Cheers achieving heavy success. TV was heavily reflective of the decade, as was music. TV was all about a happy ending; whether it be a drama, comedy, or sitcom, TV was always revolving around a happy ending. People wanted to see a good ending after the previous decades of war, death, and controversy. This decade was progressive, as was TV. The people were happy to see a happy and upbeat show, which would discuss and go by the current events of the decade. People loved this, and ate it up. TV was highly reflective of the decade.
